Bintan breeze

back for our bintan trip! sad to say one of my bestie unable to go, need to forfeit her tickets and left with jas and pauline! anyways, credits goes to takemetoasia once again with discounted rates.

booked a super early ferry because we want to meet the mr. morning sun at the beach. a 60-minute ferry ride from tanah merah ferry terminal, we arrived at bintan ferry terminal. thanks babe for sending me! :) a land transfer of about 20mins to reach bintan lagoon resort.

a welcome gesture came in the form of malay dance and fruit punch for us. coolbeans.

ate our breakfast at horizon café located at the lobby! and then we are all ready for the sun, clad on bikinis and pop to the beach directly! all the way till early afternoon, just when we feeling a little hungry – we checked in to the resort.

welcome to tropical paradise!

our balcony had a direct access to the beach in less than 2 minutes walk and with rattan chairs is oh-so-cool corner to chill at night. unfortunately, the sea view was a little tiny one as it was blocked by all the tall trees. as a matter of fact, the whole resort is shrouded in greenery, moreover, with the beach just a couple of minutes’ walk away. isn't it awesome?

there’s a snack shop as well as a big store selling beachwear, sundresses, souvenirs and crafts. a row of shops beside the lobby offers some relief to the shopaholics. ralph lauren seemed to find their way here too. the polo ralph lauren shop at the resort is but one of the many on the island.

went to pasar oleh oleh for a god damn good 2 hours hot stone massage !

the locals there recommended us to their local kelong for nice seafood, since so, the intended seafood feast set at the local kelong at kampoeng sebong. it was about 20 minutes drive from pasar oleh oleh, was a bumpy ride though, and the taxi fare wasn’t cheap at all! 40 bucks to and fro. *heartache a little.

many choices of seafood! YUMS and we caught a beautiful sunset there too. there’s a resort beside the kelong, named bintan sayang resort too. a very quiet and serene place if you want to be alone!

hop back to our resort after our dinner, started our juicy gossiping and drinking session! bought a bottle of wine and 6 bottles of beers. not a lot, we finished it and jas is still craving for more beers. but my eyes is half closing at about 1nish midnight already. hahhaa!

and that’s it for our first day at bintan lagoon resort! we felt extremely relaxed and pampered !

rise and shine! started our second day with buffet breakfast at kopi-o restaurant. I adore breakfast! especially with freeflow of eggs in any form, haha!

went to the beach again, and this morning current was quite strong. a place for surfer! saw loads of caucasian kids and they are so adorable!!

checked out at 1pm, guess too much of waiting.. our day was wasted! our ferry back to singapore was at 5.35pm, thus the nostalgic steak kicks in!

we want to go home!

be it just a staycation in singapore, i’m feeling a total stress-free!

ahem, that’s it for our 2D1N trip in bintan. good things always end so fast! it was a much needed break that i really need. i must say we really had a good albeit short getaway. :)

resort is beautiful: 9/10
service and friendliness: 6/10
a place where i will go again if i need another short getaway!

when is my next dive?

suppose to go manila last weekend for every first diving of the year with my girlfriends. leave rejected by my management due to the over-whelming festive in line, and the excessive staffs were on leave to go back hometown. i’m ultimate upset about it! booked my flight tickets and registered for our dive trips, ended up i'm the one who unable to go. ROAR… wasted 500 over bucks! dammit.

my 2 besties is leaving me! 1 going back to malacca for good and the other 1 going to tioman to help up her uncle in their new resort. it’s gonna be harder meeting up for dinner or supper in the future! i am so going to miss them badly!. thought we could celebrate valentines day together in manila, but oh wells, BIGG SIGH..

last weekend to reminisce our olden times together, thus booked a bintan trip for the 3 of us this weekend. can't wait to bounce to the beach under the hot sun, and with an ice cold beer or a stick of ice-cream! it's oh-so-awesome! share with you more on our bintan lagoon resort jaunt when i’m back.!

marina barrage ✌

i have a great bunch of friends at work!

had a birthday pre-celebration for one of the bimbos at marina barrage last saturday. we had picnic! theme for the day: maxi dress for the girls, fisherman pants/ bermudas for the guys.

saw someone brought their dogs along to marina barrage, made me misses my dog damn badly, wondering how’s he doing now. =( imisspiko.

marina barrage is one of the best places to laze around and have a picnic with your loved ones. we went there and had absolute fun! look at all the colorful kites in the sky. indeed magnificent!

weather doesn’t looks too promising when we just manage to set up out mat and get ready for the foods, but awhile later, the announcement reported that there’s lightning looming. no much of a choice and packed all the things to level 1 instead. but the guys still continue their kite flying, and only run off when it started pouring! it’s really blowy that day, and my hair was in a mess! level one is sheltered, we stay away from the rain for awhile. had our self-prepared snacks and dessert before we decide on what to do next!

the rains stop, and the dark clouds passes by! there, and we continue our kite flying and photo taking non-stop!

不知不覺, it’s 9nish. let go of 1 sky lantern but failed at marina barrage, we are so worried that the sky lantern will falls on someone instead! because of the strong wind, the sky lantern is flutter horizontally rather than flying up the sky! *pheww~

jas suggest to go south marina pier to let off the sky lantern, went there to try our luck. true enough, our second sky lantern is successfully up the sky!!. but not for the third one though, cos of the solid fuel, it’s half gone before we let it go (accidentally burned the grass on the ground)! haha.

saw a great chilled out place at marina south pier - stewords riverboat, decided to change of plan since we are already there. and such, we neglected our beloved angel who are at marina square waiting for us. (i know you read my blog, sorry my dear!)

went up to the boat, less than 5 minutes later, my motion sickness kicks in. and the food over there doesn’t look appetizing at all. but the place is a definite cool place to chill out at. so, we went off after that. we contradicted for a long time and agreed to go newton for supper and call off the day! i know..it’s a super sinful decision, by having so much food at this hours.

totally forgotten our yusheng for the day, my 8th lou hei of the year, only remembered when we heading home. got chopsticks from the hawkers and some serviettes, we decided to do this stomper act in the carpark!

woots, it’s an absolute FUN day out with all and we caught the lovely sunset too!.
