Beijing: Part 3

beijing part 3, i guess this is going to be the last entry for my beijing trip since november.!

day 4:
through out the trip, this is the day we are looking forward to. marked babe and myself - the first wonder at great wall of china!
it’s one of the world's iconic attractions, and there is little that can be said about the great wall that has not been stated over and over again throughout the wall's more than 2,000 years history.

did i mention the trail was steep and treacherous?

i’ve never been any good at bringing things to a close. i snap photo before saying good-bye. it was much harder than i expected, and much more treacherous! the wall you see in pictures is the bit that the tourists walk on. walking up is easier than coming down. ones said that use your 60% of energy to climb up, you must save 40% of your energy to climb down!. because, climbing down was not easy! true indeed, most of the time it was relentless. walking, walking, up and up. after 2 hours of walking and we are finally done with! it was cold that day, the wind blow through our faces is piercing needles. but climbed up, we are sweating inside. ice-cream on this weather would be great!

worked-out morning is satisfactions!

visit the dingling mausoleum right after our lunch, and not missing out the ming thirteen tombs! it was the generic name of the tombs of the thirteen emperors after the ming dynasty capital was moved to beijing.
history history! yawns.

a total liking foot massage after all those foot steps left at all attractions.

oomph and off to wangfujing shopping street in the evening! bought all the souvenirs there for all colleagues and friends. =X wangfujing is just like ximengting in taiwan. but i would say that they clothings is not cheap though.

day 5 is just a shopping day!

we went to beijing national stadium, also known as the bird nest, and viewing the external façade of the national aquatics centre that known as water cube. lunch was a special one, there’s chinese opera performance while we are eating. and me thinks of my little niece claimed that this is a concert when she was younger in a temple.

2 places to sweep goodies. yashow and xiushui, but sad to say, nothing much to buy as the entire lanes are all selling winter clothings. nevertheless, i bought a leather jacket for only 30 plus singapore dollar. melikes!

this morning was insane! almost everyone hide behind the billboard, but tour-guide straight away asked us to stay away from the billboard. the signage by the roadside is shaky as well! so you can imagine what will happened!? being squash to death by the billboard? just look at these tree! haha!
