a refreshing day starts.. hotel room is big and cozy, at least we are pleased to stay in for the 7 nights!
Day 2:
after breakfast at hotel, we went to the summer palace - the top of the 4 most famous gardens in china, also know as empress dowager cixi’s own imperial garden. its one of the largest of its kind that still in existence in china today! the palace features hundreds of architecturally distinct buildings, halls, pavilions, pagodas, bridges and corridors dispersed among the whole garden.
i can’t remember how big the place is, because I’m freezing!
couldn’t feel my legs and don’t know how far we actually walked. that’s why the multiple jumping shots came in! jumping and funny pose keeps us warm.. haha!
initially, planned to bring chilli padi all the way to beijing, but last minute packing made me miss out sucha important little item!
food there is intolerant! especially without chilli!
their food is not appealing at all, and sad to say i never take any photos of the food. *puke
remember watching kit chan’s musical few years back, on forbidden city. she plays as cixi, a young concubine scheming for survival and love amidst the political intrigue of the forbidden city rises to become empress, only to end her days as an aging dowager fearing for her safety. an awesome play! somehow rather, china’s historical pieces indeed captivated by me a little.
once home to emperors, we reached forbidden city after lunch. it is the largest and the most complete palace existing in china and in the world today, filled with magnificence pagodas. in chinese, known as 紫禁城 aka 只進城 and indeed, once entered forbidden city, there’s no return. haha. you have got to walk all the way to the exit from tiananmen square. it was a good 2 to 3 hours of walking and photo taking and laughter with the bies-ians!
legend of kungfu - chun yi at the red theatre. i thought it was a quite a good show, it is about a little boy life in an ancient temple and through practicing kungfu and zen, he becomes a master. how he finally reaches the sacred goal of enlightenment. okie, it’s china.
Day 3:
right after breakfast, head to 同仁堂! i believe most of you have heard of this, maybe hearing your parents or grandparent rave about it? alright, well..at least i do. it’s a famous old pharmacy in beijing with more than 300 years of history. and guessed as much! i bought a dose after hearing the chinese physical saying how bad my temper are, and how bad temper affect here and affect there! expected, I don’t see any improvement as of today still! unless i didn’t realize anything yet. *roll-eyes
it's a well-simple planned itinerary for today, because of the most anticipated great wall of china the next day! visited tian tang park, okie, i think through out the trip is all about taking photos, photos and more photos. picked out just a few piccas here! guess i gotta post my photos in my facebook real soon, like after so long.. =X
went for our second play in beijing, me likes! the golden mask dynasty is a mythical age, and the play tells a fairy-tale like story of war, royal banquets, and romance. their action, costume, stage effect is oh-so-different from local. the theater's stage is flexible, and can be rotated to different heights and angles. in the play, i think there are 10 over different kind dance scenes, ranging from war scenes to romance.
the only jump shot we have,
guess we were too cold and jumping just can't seems to get it right!
we're camoflash-ed! ^o^
YUP! shopping stop in the evening, at silk street! was being warned before we head down.
NO touching if you're not buying,
NO asking of price if you're not a sincere buyer,
NO asking of price if you're not a sincere buyer,
NO slashing of pricing if you're not buying,
NO looking for more than 3 second if you don’t like it in the first place.. haha. just joking for the last point.
