Back to Bangkok again last week with baby and our dear friends, Jasmine and Kent.
Crash their Bangkok trip because baby wanted to have a mini
honeymoon before our Maldives next. Hiak hiak..
Scoot a night flight to bangkok on last Friday night, the
moment we touched down and checked in hotel.. the long cravings on the grilled
tiger prawns and morning glory are irresistible, so we just dropped our bags
and head down to Yaowarat.
I can eat tons of it! The prawn meat were so fresh and
springy. I love sucking the roe out of the prawn heads. It was so good that without having
anything else but this! Large portion cost 300 baht, about 10-12
prawns.

Getting Here:
MRT Hua Lamphong. From N5, turn right at the first T junction and walk for about 10 minutes.
Both T&K Seafood (green shirt) and R&L Seafood (pink
shirt) is located at a street corner at the intersection of Phadung Dao Road
and the main Yaowarat Road. *we took a cab from pratunam area where our hotel
area.
After the late dinner, we cab to Saphan phut night market,
the memorial bridge area.
We saw loads of different favours of cigarettes, such as vanilla, grape, strawberry! And we bought some and try!

The market goes up along the river beside the King’s
memorial bridge and hosts vendors of all manner of handicrafts and manufactured
goods.
Saphan Phut are pretty dead for me. Not as busy as before..
things are really low-graded and prices went up. Wouldn’t advice to go there
again.
Ended our night early because of the chatuchak market next
day!
Planned to set off at 9 in the morning, but we overslept. Head
off at about 10am instead.
Our convenient hotel location at pratunam area are just 5
minutes walk to platinum mall. Next craving for the kuey chap at the food court
top level. Wanted to have a great breakfast before starting my chatuchak! The moment
I came up the escalator, I knew something is wrong and my kuey chap stall is
gone!! Walked the entire food court and couldn’t find it! Total saddened!!!! There
are about 1-2 stall are blocked up, I hope they are having renovation. I hope
they will open soon, and I hope the next time I go Bangkok, they are back! :(
Anyways, had crepe at basement as consolation.
Time for the helluvalot shopping at the JJ market!
Conquering the entire Chatuchak are impossible task! It’s
huge, big, huge and big!!Time for the helluvalot shopping at the JJ market!
The main walkway encircles the entire market, and it branches off into a series of numbered alleyways called Soi 1, Soi 2, Soi 3, and so on. These alleyways are grouped into sections, with 27 sections in all.
We starts off with section 4 and must visit section 8 for
their designer local brands. But section 8 things are priced slightly more.
Quality are much better as well!
Shopping with hubby and boyfriends are loved!!
Remembered last year the Bangkok trip with Jasmine alone, carrying
our loots are draining our energy at the same time we walked! Poor guys, we
shop while they eat and drink! Oops. Hehe.
This time round, managed to cover slightly more in JJ!
We beat the blistering heat with coconut ice cream, served
on a coconut husk , complete with coconut flesh and a cup of coconut juice! Alrighty,
I don’t really like to eat coconut flesh, so down a bottle of coconut juice
instead! And had my all-time-favourite roasted pork!!!
Weather is extremely hwat in JJ market! Remember to drink
more water, and you can always buy a wet icy cold tower from any drinks stall
at only 20 baht to slap on your face to cool yourself down!! And I always
needed that!
Spelled sa-tis-fac-tion!!
Getting Here:
BTS skytrain to Mo Chit Station, take exit no. 1 and follow
the crowd until you see rows of canvas stalls selling clothes. Turn right while
continuing to follow the crowd and you will see a small entrance that leads
into the market (clothing section).
Another option is to take the MRT subway to Chatuchak Park
station (exit no.1), then follow the crowd until you arrive at the small
entrance that leads into the market (clothing section).
The weekend market is open on Saturdays and Sundays, 09:00 -
18:00, and Fridays 18:00 - 24:00.
Set off at about 5pm before the crowds leaving JJ. Went back
to hotel, and freshen up!
Met hubz friend, Rowena who stayed in Bangkok for a couple
of years for dinner!
She brought us to taste the local and yummy max mookata –
Family BBQ.
Had a bike ride with Ro, first time squeezing 2 pillions and
1 rider on a bike, which this can never happen in Singapore.
Mookata in Bangkok are huge!! Huge place with huge spread of
food!
Helluvalot of food, okays? All kinds of meat, veggies and
seafood! I basically whack the tiger prawns and pork belly for the entire dinner!
This buffet only cost us 200 baht per person! That’s crazily worth it!
After dinner, we went to khlong lod night market at about
10pm. It’s our first visit, and it’s so much better than the usual ones. They offer various goods and are worth for your time and
money.
That’s how khlong lod night market like:
Went over to Ro’s husband ktv pub thereafter! We sing like
nobody business and my voice usually break into man’s voice after 12mn. Haha! We party and drink till almost 4 in the morning. How tired?!
But we enjoy much!
--
Next day we set off at about 12 noon! Wanted to go Yaowarat
but there are protesters fanning across the city. And no taxi wants to go
yaowarat on Sunday. So we went to Tawanna instead! It’s just beside mall
bangkapi.
Tawanna have outdoor and indoor shopping! The outdoor market
are partially under tents. Weather force us to stay indoor, but the place is
big enough to shop enough! It’s our little black dress night, so we got to head
back to dress up! Went to four-face Buddha near central world to pray, a must
visit with hubby whenever we are in Bangkok.!
That's my little black dress for that night!
Hello breeze! Had Asian cuisine fine dining at the lebua
state tower! The view are amazing~
Crossing the neon-lit sky-bridge is a sight to behold! And we
called it as the Bifröst bridge.
Food are good and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner with my love.
*thumbs up
Brought out a pair of slipper and changed after we left the
place, what’s next – of cause another night market to visit!
Explore the new place, Rod Fai! It used to be at an
abandoned railroad track near Chatuchak.
Rod Fai market has moved to a new location at Srinakarin Soi
51, just behind Seacon Square.
Vintage is in it!
Rod Fai train market has always been especially popular in
Bangkok for it’s chilled out atmosphere, good music and unique vintage
displays. Off the beaten track for tourists, I love it here so much and it
definitely make it out from the rest of the standard Bangkok markets. But this place is pretty far out! Having difficulties getting a cab back to pratunam area, in-line with tons of taxi and we only managed to board a cab after the 10-11 cabs. =X
Ending our night with goooood massage at pratunam!
Getting here:
Rod Fai market is only open on the weekends. From 6pm till
12mn.
Seacon Square Mall, which is a few miles away from the nearest transport station. The closest station to get anywhere close to Seacon Square is either Udom Suk or Punnawithi BTS stations. From here, ask a taxi to take you to Seacon Square – this will cost about 100-150 baht.
Last morning in Bangkok, doing last shopping at Yaowarat and Union Mall~
And that's our lunch before flying back to Home Sweet Home!
Good bye, Bangkok!
