Universal studio is universally fun.
WITH the scorching hot sun + rains in the late noon just after our late lunch. :(
It was not a good start to the day. The weather is freaking HOT! I was kind of regret why I didn’t apply sun block.
The first thing we saw was Betty Boop! I recalled that I used to like this character when I was younger because of the color, RED – which is really nice on her. Nearly bought something when we were in Betty Boop retail stall. Brunch at mel’s café before we start our USS jaunt! It was not as expensive as I thought theme park food might be. Less than S$10 bought you a generous portion of cheeseburger/hotdogs with drinks and fries. And with may promotion, each person entitled 10 bucks food vouchers and 5 bucks retail vouchers.
First picca in USS.
In fact, the day was plagued with short shutdowns of attractions for technical and operational reasons, which annoyed us somewhat. Like Battlestar Galactica dual roller coasters will not be open till very long due to technical issue. :(
Still, we managed to try some of the attractions like the Revenge of the mummy. AND how I convinced babe to board the ride. I love coaster rides, but also has a healthy fear of them. LOL. Is our age meant we could no longer jump onto a coaster and come out the other end dying to go up again, like we did when we were younger? Boo.
Madagascar world! Guess what, it's my first time ride on the merry go round. Whoops.
It's a green, green world with my favorites cartoon characters – Shrek!
We wandered into Far Far Away and checked out Shrek's Far Far Away Castle, where was a 4D show to watch. This means you watch a 3D movie with the 4th D being the moving seats and special effects like water being spit at you.
The ride itself was okay. But some bumps and turns, some spills that made me a little motion sickness. The highlight was supposed to be the T-Rexes and random dinosaurs lurching at you. I am not sure why but we were not too frightened by them though. LOL.
Then we entered Ancient Egypt and tried the Revenge of the Mummy, an indoor roller coaster ride.
We had to walk a long long way to reach the ride. Inside the building, they had obviously planned for long queues. You could run a marathon inside, using the queue path.
The ride itself was fun, with some cool effects like fire and an evil robot mummy damning us to hell, but just when you started to feel the thrills of the ride, it ended. It needed to be longer, me thinks.
Before the show started, we just wandering around taking photos everywhere with the raincoats on. Was fascinated with cameras though, I like it.
After the show, we visited all the retail stall and check out if there’s anything to buy by using the 5 bucks voucher. AND so, I bought a shreak baby girl, Felicia cup at 12 bucks I think! *Nice.
Kays, it was a long entry after so long! Full stop.
